Savings Bond Redemptions – Altoona, PA & Duncansville, PA
Availability:
- ISB does not issue U.S. Savings Bonds.
- ISB does redeem Series EE and I U.S. Savings Bonds.
Liquidity:
If you are holding mature Series EE and/or I U.S. Savings Bonds that you wish to redeem, bring them to an ISB Office during normal bank lobby hours.
Restrictions - Maturity:
Effective February 2003, the minimum holding period has been increased from 6 months to 12 months for newly issued Series EE and I U.S. Savings Bonds. That means Series EE and I savings bonds with February 2003 and later issue dates cannot be redeemed until they are at least 12 months old. Additionally, for I U.S. Savings Bonds, a penalty of 3 months will be applied if it is redeemed before reaching an age of 5 years.
